This week our blog topic is a special climate change prompt. Our responses are part of a project from a university to see how kids feel about what is going on in the world (COOL!) You will need to use this phrase somewhere in your piece. Make sure you create your best piece. focus on your ideas and details, description, and order (content and ideas, organization, word choice, voice, sentence fluency, and conventions) As you know all parts of the world are being affected by the change in their climate. Here are five words for you to use in a post about these changes. As always, you must use ALL 5 words. They are:

I never thought that this day would come to an end. I was just in my room and then my mom started yelling “EVACUATE”!!! I ran outside and I saw big signs outside saying “CODE RED, CODE RED”. My mom said “We have to get out of here, the forest fires are getting way too bad I’m afraid we’re gonna have to move”. I suddenly said “Ok I know this is urgent but our industry where we live is getting caught on fire too quickly, we need to get out of here immediately”. When we got out all I saw was my house burning to bits.
I like the way you set up the post and how it goes strait into the the action and how it tells the story in that little section.
Plenty of action in your story, Zoe. You have included all the prompt words very easily in to your fast-moving story. The way you have used capital letters is very effective for ‘evacuate’ and ‘code red’. They really leap off the page!

I told myself to evacuate the room as soon as I saw the red alarm go off. There was an urgent matter in the meting room. I was afraid of what the industry might say but to my relief they Said that they were going to try to stop climate change. Which was crazy to me because our company does not do anything close to making plastic bottles. But to my Surprise one month later they stopped making plastic bottles. This helped climate change and our company from mass production in Plastic bottles and to bamboo bottles in mass production.

I really like the way you started your story with it moving really fast then all of a sudden it was just a meeting because of climate change. Also I have a question: do you recycle your bottles or just throw them in your trash?
My mom and dad were going to their industry to make up some plans for work. It felt like it was burning my skin like it was caused by climate change. The sky looked red and I thought that I was smelling something burnt.I looked in the kitchen and I saw a fire coming from the stove. I had to evacuate fast; this was an urgent emergency. I was so afraid that my parents were going to get so mad at me even though it was an accident. All I remember seeing was red flames…

One morning I woke up to the smell of flames. So I got up and woke my mom and this is what she said “just go back to sleep it’s just the neighbor’s dog smelling up the whole neighborhood.So I just want back to sleep until my mom woke me saying that we had to evacuate. I was very afraid because she said it was not for a good reason. My mom had also gotten an urgent message saying that an industry had broken something, I believe it was like a red poison that can hurt people. So that is why we had to evacuate.

My class got to go to NASA my teacher said we might get to meet the astronauts when we were in the computer industry I saw two of the astronauts talking one another their face looked panicked I wondered what was going on and suddenly one of them pressed the big red button the noise it made all in Nasa made my ears hurt they told us to evacuate they said it was urgent and we needed to get out of their fast but when I opened the door aliens invaded the NASA computer room I was so scared and afraid I ran for my life I had to get me and my class out of their as fast as I can.

It was a regular old boring day at school. It was cloudy and sunny. Then my friend was looking out the window, I thought she was zoning out so I just looked away. Then everyone else started looking out the window, I was confused so I looked at my friend again. She looked afraid for some reason. So then I looked out the window and I couldn’t believe my eyes. My face turned red and I was frightened too. Then the school industry made an announcement and told us to evacuate. I noticed when they called the announcement it sounded urgent. I kept saying it was a practice drill but when I looked out the window it was a SNOW STORM!!! Looks like they called it for a reason.

One day I went to an industry with my mom and we bought a red shirt for my brother.After that I saw A hornet I was afraid of it.Then the hornet stung me it was urgent. I ran inside and evacuated from outside into my house.When I got in my dad helped me get Healed off my Hornet’s sting And he also pulled out the Stinger. My mom got in, she put all the groceries away and I got to watch some cartoons. My Stung arm healed.The weeks later I healed. but ever since then I’m terrified of hornets .
